Suzanna Ross A Little Love, A Little Amour concert at the Metropolitan Room

Suzanna Ross will be singing a repeat performance of A Little Love, A Little Amour. Combining old-style romance with contemporary flair, Suzanna will cover songs from the American, French, and British songbooks. She is known for a warm, sometimes smoky, sometimes poetic sound that lends itself to lush melodies and lyrics sung in both English and French.

The songs include American tunes, French classics, 60s and 70s pop, and movie favorites from the lists of Diana Krall, Sting, Edith Piaf, British pop legend Dusty Springfield, Burt Bacharach, Michel Legrand, French pop legend Francoise Hardy, and more. She will be accompanied by her quartet of musicians from the New York City and European scenes. The tightly knit band moves easily from jazz, to pop, to ballads, and includes piano, bass, sax, and drums.

Date: July 6. 7pm (doors open at 6.15pm)
Venue: Metropolitan Room, 34 W 22nd St, New York, NY 10010

Special Offer: Free tickets when you spend $25 on food and drink. Tickets are limited.

The Play That Goes Wrong
Ben Brantley of The New York Times calls THE PLAY THAT GOES WRONG “A GUT-BUSTING HIT!” and The Huffington Post says, “THIS IS THE FUNNIEST PLAY BROADWAY HAS EVER SEEN!” Winner of the Olivier Award for BEST NEW COMEDY, this sidesplitting show-within-a-show is a classic murder mystery chock-full of mishaps and more madcap mania than a Monty Python marathon!

With an unconscious leading lady, a corpse that can’t play dead, and actors who trip over everything (including their lines), it’s bedlam beyond Broadway’s wildest nightmare and “A RIOTOUS EXPLOSION OF COMEDY!” (The Daily Beast).

Date: Through November 19
Venue: Lyceum Theatre Broadway, 149 West 45th Street

St. George’s Gives Back

St. George’s Society is delighted to announce our newest initiative: St. George’s Gives Back!

This program reflects the overwhelming request from you—our members and supporters—to take a more active role in serving our community. St. George’s Gives Back see us participate in volunteer activities throughout the city to help those in need.

Our first volunteer activity took place on Saturday 17th June at St. Thomas Church’s Soup Kitchen where we prepped, packed, and distributed bagged lunches to individuals experiencing homelessness. Our group made record-breaking time for food prep and packaging, and successfully served over 300 lunches in Midtown Manhattan!

View more photos from the day.

We are thrilled to offer these unique opportunities for members to interact and give back at the same time!

Summer Nights in the Garden

Join St. George’s Society on August 9th for an exclusive look into the history of New York City’s very own Merchant’s House Museum, Manhattan’s “best preserved” (The New York Times) 19th-century home.

Built in 1832, Merchant’s House was purchased by Seabury Tredwell, a prosperous New York City hardware merchant, in 1835. The Tredwell family continued to live in the landmark late-Federal and Greek revival style row house for nearly 100 years.

Learn about the domestic life of this prosperous merchant family and their four Irish servants during the mid-19th century—a time when New York City transformed from seaport to thriving metropolis.

Enjoy complimentary wine, beer and light hors d’oeuvres in the Museum’s private garden and guided tours of the House.

Admission is $20 per person to be paid in cash upon arrival.

Event begins at 6pm. We encourage you to arrive on time to take part in the exclusive tours being offered to St. George’s Society members and friends.

To RSVP, please email

Afternoon Tea with the Beneficiaries

On 1st June, Nord Anglia International School welcomed a group of our elderly beneficiaries to enjoy a spring afternoon of entertainment and refreshments.

Now in its second year, The Spring Tea and Talk event provides the opportunity for the children to meet and interact with the beneficiaries in our community. During the afternoon, guests enjoyed talented musical performances by the students, including a reprise from the musical Annie, a pianist and a live guitar set.

This year we also introduced the interactive mural, which allowed guests to express themselves creatively through the medium of art. Students and beneficiaries of all ages added their signature piece to the mural – ranging from quotes and floral designs to native flags and cultural symbols.

We would like to thank all the children and teachers at the Nord Anglia International School who helped create such a successful event. Additionally, thank you to the generous donation from the Inez Branca Family Foundation, an ongoing supporter of our Beneficiary Program.

Since its establishment in 1770, St. George’s Society has served thousands of people in need. Currently, we serve over 100 elderly beneficiaries, providing monthly stipends for elderly and disabled beneficiaries living in New York to remain safe and comfortable in their homes, avoiding homelessness.
