Meet Our New Board Members


St. George’s Society’s AGM was held on 26th January 2017 at the English-Speaking Union. During the meeting, four new members were elected to the Board of Directors. 

jahJosephine Auerback Haft

Josephine is an entrepreneurial executive who has provided marketing consultancy, leadership and strategic guidance to local, national and global businesses for more than 30 years.  She began her career at Young & Rubicam’s London office serving a broad range of clients in the pharmaceutical, beauty and confectionery sectors, as well as being assigned to its European new business team.

After relocating to California in 1990, Josephine held a variety of executive management and leadership positions in production companies and advertising agencies throughout the southwest, before joining the start-up team of the Open University’s US institution, as its Vice Chancellor for Marketing and External Relations.

In 2003, she established her own consulting practice to provide strategic advice to institutions, as well as to guide families and individuals in making international education choices.  To date, her work for British universities has contributed over £300 million of economic impact to the British economy.

British-born, Josephine has lived throughout the US and now resides in Manhattan.


DDDavid Drinkwater

David Drinkwater has been the CFO of Manikay Partners LLC, a New York based investment manager, since 2008 when the firm’s first fund was launched. He has over 25 years of experience in the financial markets including positions at Brown Brothers Harriman and ING Clarion Capital. David first came to New York in 1991 with Arthur Andersen and was made a partner in 1997. He graduated in Chemical Engineering from Birmingham University and is a UK Chartered Accountant.

David is on the Board of the University of Birmingham USA Foundation and is Chair of the University of Birmingham USA Alumni Society. He also runs the UK Alumni Group of New York.

Clifford FranklinCF

Clifford Franklin is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Sabre Integrated Security Systems. Sabre designs, installs and maintains electronic security systems such as; access control, video surveillance and intruder alarms. Prior to establishing the company in 2000, he spent six years with Fire and Security, Inc., as vice president of operations, with responsibility for acquisitions in the United States.

Clifford has been a member of The St George’s Society of New York since 2000 and is also a member the Security Industry Association. A former board member of the Greenwich Village, Chelsea chamber of commerce and is an alumni of the Goldman Sachs 10k Small Business program.

MKMoya Keys

Born and raised in Nottingham, England, Moya holds a B.A in English Literature and a J.D. from Rutgers School of Law. She has practiced environmental and commercial litigation in both New York and New Jersey for over 20 years, principally representing corporate clients in the oil, banking, insurance, and real estate industries.

She is currently a six-year member of the Beneficiaries Committee of St. George’s Society and also serves on the board of directors of the New York State society of the Daughters of the British Empire (“DBE”), where she has also served in various other capacities including third VP and treasurer. She was instrumental in obtaining a group 501(c)(3) for the DBE’s 30 separate corporations and oversaw the compliance for each corporation and attended several IRS training seminars on the formation, management, and compliance of 501(c)(3) entities.

Through her service on the St. George’s Beneficiaries Committee, she has come to know the invaluable work the Society does in supporting and helping our beneficiaries so that they can live more enriching live with hope and dignity.
