What brought you to New York?

I joined the Mountbatten Institute’s New York programme in August 2011, and arrived here for the first time in an airport shuttle bus with all my things in a rucksack to take on a year-long internship at the British Consulate. Four years on, I’m still standing!

What do you enjoy about being a member of St. George’s Society?

Besides having a very worthy philanthropic function, St. George’s Society offers a ton of great, fun ways to meet other people in the city – invaluable, particularly when you first arrive. And, of course, I love running the regular quiz nights with the Society!

What is your favorite New York place or pastime?

I’m a big cinemagoer, and there are dozens of great theaters in the city. The IFC Center and Film Forum are probably my favourites, and both leave you very well-placed for a post-movie beer in the West Village.

The next GREAT British Pub Quiz hosted by Charles will take place on 16th September at The Churchill. To register a team please RSVP to George@stgeorgessociety.org
