Mountbatten Trainees Raise Over $4,000 For Team SGSNY

Each year, the Society’s Mountbatten trainee leads a committee of fellow trainees to organize events and activities to help raise awareness and funds for our charitable programs. Juliet Lamb, our current Mountbatten, shares their progress since March and the exciting plans ahead.

The Mountbatten Fundraising Committee has been exceptionally busy over the last six months planning and carrying out various activities to help raise vital funds to support the essential work St. George’s Society does for those in need in New York.

Mountbattens ran the Brooklyn Half Marathon and raised over $3000 for the Society’s charitable programs.

We quickly decided as a group that one of the most effective ways to fundraise was by competing in a challenge event, and luckily (for me, a non-runner) we discovered there were six keen runners within the committee! They completed the Brooklyn Half Marathon on 19 October—all with impressive finishing times! The support they received leading up to the day exceeded all expectations, beating their target of $1,750 and raising over $3,000 for the Society.

In addition to the Brooklyn Half, the Committee have successfully hosted a bottomless brunch and a SPOOKtacular charity bake sale (for Halloween of course) raising almost $800.

The Committee has plenty more up their sleeves and is planning the next big fundraiser… Bingo Night back by popular demand! Join us on Tuesday 19 November at The Churchill Tavern for a fun-filled evening with AMAZING prizes to be won. Sign up now to avoid disappointment.
