Our Community

St. George's Society of New York (SGSNY)’s community is a diverse group of individuals united by a common purpose: to support vulnerable New Yorkers in need.

Our close-knit community of members is made up of professionals across multiple sectors with ties to Britain and the commonwealth whether it be home, where they studied abroad during university, or a deep personal connection. Members enjoy special access to monthly events that range from fun-filled pub quizzes to celebrating iconic British holidays like Pancake Day and Bonfire Night, mixing and mingling with other members while simultaneously raising critical funds for our three charitable programs: Beneficiary Program, Scholarship Program, and the Family Support Fund.

Who can join?

Membership is open to anyone! While we enjoy celebrating our British roots, you don’t need a UK passport or be from the Commonwealth to join. Everybody is welcome at SGSNY as long they are willing to get involved and support a good cause.

New members should be known by two current members of the Society who can serve as your Proposer and Seconder, however, if you have no prior connection to the Society, we invite you to reach out to us via email at membership@stgeorgessociety.org.
