British Ball

The British Ball is St. George’s Society of New York’s annual black-tie gala typically held each spring to recognize distinguished members of the Anglo-American and Commonwealth community and SGSNY’s charitable mission.

Members, corporate leaders and honored guests gather to enjoy an evening of dining, dancing and philanthropy. The British Ball serves as a primary source of funding for our Scholarship Program through the Fund-A-Scholar Pledge Drive that takes place during the evening.

First established in 1770 as a banquet to celebrate St. George, the patron saint of England, the British Ball has been held with rare exceptions every year on or near 23rd April, St. George’s Day.
