Every July, the British-American community in New York comes together to celebrate its rich history, culture and community at the annual summer garden party.

Although we won’t be gathering in person this year, the tradition will continue in 2020 as we take the event virtual!

Carl Raymond is a writer, food historian, and arts educator.  He has lectured on food and cultural history for the Metropolitan Opera Guild, Merchant’s House Museum, the National Arts Club, the Royal Oak Foundation,  St. George’s Society, Historic Royal Palaces and the English Speaking Union. He has written for New York Food Story, the publication of the Culinary Historians of New York as well as the magazine of the Royal Oak Foundation.  Carl was a contributing writer on SAVORING GOTHAM: A Food Lover’s Companion to New York City (Oxford University Press) and is at work on his own book, a culinary history of the Gilded Age.

Curt DiCamillo

Curt DiCamillo is the Curator of Special Collections at the New England Historic Genealogical Society. Before he came to NEHGS, he worked for the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston and the National Trust for Scotland. He is a noted historian and a recognized authority on the British country house, about which he has written, lectured, and taught in the U.S. and abroad. Since 1999 he has maintained an award-winning database on the web, TheDiCamillo.com, which seeks to document every English, Scottish, Welsh, and Irish country house ever built, standing or demolished. He is a member of The Society of Architectural Historians of Great Britain, a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, is listed in Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in the World, is a Fellow of the Massachusetts Historical Society, and a member of the Council of the American Museum in Britain. In recognition of his work, Curt has been presented to the late Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother and The Prince of Wales.
