Mentoring Program

St. George’s Society of New York’s (SGSNY) Mentoring Program was established to provide guidance and support for student success, with an emphasis on career development, preparation for graduate school, leadership, goal setting, and character/life building skills.

Mentoring is about helping another person learn through a one-to-one relationship. It’s a common practice for transferring knowledge, promoting best practices at work, and helping guide the leaders of tomorrow. Mentorships are typically offered through the academic year until graduation date (August-May).

Mentoring is available for all current and alumni SGSNY’s Scholarship Program. Professionals from all backgrounds are welcome to apply to volunteer as a mentor.

About St. George’s Society of New York

St. George’s Society of New York is a charity dedicated to enriching the quality of life for people in need through an established support system within the British and Commonwealth community of New York.

The Scholarship Program was established in 2008 to help final-year college students of British and Commonwealth heritage complete their education and launch their careers. We currently serve students at CUNY institutions across all five boroughs of New York City. Beyond financial support, scholarship recipients are provided with a number of enrichment opportunities including mentoring, career workshops, networking receptions and complimentary membership to St. George’s Society of New York.
