An Evening to Remember

St. George's Society of New York celebrated the unveiling of our new look on Wednesday 11th October at an exhibit and reception at Caelum Gallery in Chelsea.

Tracing the evolution of the Society's visual identity from our establishment in 1770 to the present day, the exhibit showcased a variety of designs that have been used over the course of our 247-year history. One of the items on display was the Society's earliest surviving artifact, a membership certificate from 1788.

During the evening, President Philip Warner, OBE explained why a "brand refresh" was in order and recognized the countless hours spent under the guidance of WPP branding agency Landor to develop a new visual identity that could serve the diversity of the St. George's Society community as well as our charitable mission.

There are three simple components to our new logo: St. George’s Society—our English heritage, New York—our home and the community which we serve and 1770—testament to our longevity and the continuing need for our charitable work.
— Philip Warner OBE, President

He noted that the Society's new logo is complemented by 10 illustrations that were generously donated to us by British illustrator James Taylor. They were designed specifically for St. George's Society and we are honored to have his work in our communications. These illustrations use iconic English and British symbols to convey the Society’s unique heritage, spirit and forward looking attitude. Each illustration can be used to highlight different types of events and activities that we engage in as a British charitable organization in New York.

Guests enjoyed hors d'oeuvres and sparkling wine kindly donated by Voila Caterers and Chapel Down. Gift bags filled with items donated by some of our Perks Providers were supplied by Outstanding Branding and featured the Society's new logo with an illustration of George and the dragon.
