Office Reopening Plans
St. George’s Society moved to remote working on 16 March, six days before the state order went into effect, and home visits to beneficiaries were suspended until further notice.
Now, under Phase Two of the state’s four-phase reopening plan, St. George’s Society’s office is permitted to reopen.
The safety of our employees and the communities we serve remains our biggest priority as we navigate a return to the workspace. While most of our team will continue to work remotely until (at least) Labor Day; we have begun a phased return to the office for those employees who felt it was safe to do so. We will adhere to New York State’s Office-Based Work Guidelines for Employers and Employees.
Beneficiary assessments will continue to be conducted over the telephone by our social workers. This will be reviewed in consultation with fellow New York City service organizations and new guidelines will be established before resuming in-person home visits.
Currently, the Society is planning all events to take place virtually until the end of the year.
