2018 British Bash Honoree Announced: Bradley Wright-Phillips

We are delighted to announce that MLS legend Bradley Wright-Philips will receive the Anglo-American Cultural Award at this year’s British Bash.

The first two-time MLS Golden Boot winner, Bradley Wright-Phillips turned himself into an elite finisher in MLS, and has banked arguably the greatest forward season in MLS history.

Wright-Phillips’ career started in 2004, when he graduated from Manchester City’s academy and played for the Premier League side until 2006. He then moved onto English side Southampton, where he amassed 111 appearances and scored 22 goals. From 2009-11, Wright-Phillips featured for Plymouth Argyle before moving to Charlton Athletic. At Charlton, Wright-Phillips scored 31 goals in 82 games. Following that, Wright-Phillips was at Brentford on loan, playing 15 matches and recording five goals.

Wright-Phillips joined the New York Red Bulls halfway through the 2013 season, helping them to the Supporters' Shield, and in his first full season he equaled the league's record for most goals in a single campaign with 27. He currently holds the New York Red Bulls record for most goals scored.

“Since joining the New York Red Bulls, Bradley is making a huge impact on this side of the pond—breaking record after record,” notes St. George’s Society Executive Director, Anna Titley. “We are thrilled to be recognizing his accomplishments at the British Bash this year and look forward to a great night of celebration. “

Wright-Phillips’ father, Ian Wright MBE—a football legend in his own right—will be joining us to present the award on 29th November at Edison Ballroom.

Please join us in celebrating the best of British in NYC with Bradley Wright-Phillips this November at the British Bash. Tickets available online.
