An Update from St. George’s Society Regarding Coronavirus/COVID-19

Dear Friends,

In light of recent events and the uncertainty we all face with the outbreak of coronavirus (COVID-19), we have made the difficult, but necessary, decision to postpone or cancel all St. George’s Society events through the end of April. Sadly, this includes postponing our annual gala, the English Ball as well as the visit from our Patron, HRH The Duke of Gloucester KG GCVO.

We have not taken this decision lightly. The health and safety of our community is of utmost importance to us, and we are taking this measure to protect our members, supporters, beneficiaries, and the general public.

COVID-19 infection threatens everyone but especially those who are most vulnerable—seniors and people with underlying chronic illnesses. Our social workers are working diligently to ensure that our beneficiaries remain safe and informed—taking precautions to protect these high-risk individuals by postponing home visits while also ensuring they have access to adequate food and household supplies.

We will continue to monitor this situation closely and share further updates via our website and social media channels (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and LinkedIn).

Thank you for being part of our community and for your continued support during this time.

Be safe and keep well.

Sincerely,

Anna Titley
