Together Again: Afternoon Tea with SGSNY Beneficiaries

After more than a year apart, we were delighted to host afternoon teas for our Manhattan and Brooklyn-based beneficiaries in September.

Both intimate, outdoor gatherings welcomed a small group of senior beneficiaries, Beneficiary Committee members and Phone Pals. COVID-19 protocols were strictly followed, with all seniors, staff and guests fully-vaccinated.

With the annual Shadwell Tea cancelled last year due to the pandemic, we were thrilled to have the opportunity to safely bring some of our beneficiaries together to enjoy conversation and entertainment. We were especially excited to offer a chance for some our Phone Pals to meet in person after more than a year.

Special thank you to Roosevelt A. Credit and Beth Falcone for their excellent musical performances at our Brooklyn tea. We’d also like to thank Brooklyn High Low and Kings’ Carriage House for providing their elegant food, tea and service.

“After such a difficult year, it was very special to bring our community together in person. Occasions like these make such a difference in the lives of our seniors, and we hope to be able to host more in the near future,” shared Executive Director, Clare Risman.
