Going the Distance with Team SGSNY

On the early morning of Saturday 17th March, a team of St. George’s Society members joined by our Executive Director, Anna Titley, ran the Armory NYC Indoor Marathon Relay in Washington Heights.

The team took it in turns to run laps of the Armory’s world-class 200-meter indoor track and complete the 26.2-mile challenge (211 laps in total). After 3 hours, 3 minutes and 23 seconds, Board Member David Martinelli crossed the finish line, earning Team SGSNY 2nd place in their heat.

The 8-person team—comprised of Anna, David, Joanna Dingle, Jennifer Stevens, Ryan Pilkington, Gareth Hughes, Russ Philp and Andy Philp—raised over $1,300 for the Society’s charitable programs.

Taking part in an event like this not only raises valuable funds but it’s great fun and gives you a meaningful reason to challenge yourself. Our members have done some pretty amazing things to raise money for St. George’s and we encourage everyone to think about how they can take action. Together we can achieve so much more!
— Anna Titley, Executive Director
