In Memoriam: Victor E. Stewart, Past President and Longtime Supporter of SGSNY

It is with great sadness that we share the news of the passing of Victor E. Stewart, a cherished past president and longtime supporter of St. George’s Society of New York. Victor joined our community in 1983 alongside his beloved wife, Carol, and together they became integral members of our society.

Victor dedicated many years of service to our board and various committees. He served as President from 2009 to 2011, a period during which he led us to significant achievements, particularly in expanding our work with Commonwealth communities in the New York area. He was also on the board of the American Fund for Westminster Abbey from its 2012 inception.

One of Victor’s most notable contributions was his role in founding the Queen Elizabeth II September 11th Garden, where he also served as Chairman of the Board of Directors. A place to which his advocacy, for strong Commonwealth connections, will continue to live on.

Victor's legacy will forever remain a part of SGSNY’s history. We extend our deepest condolences to Carol, their three sons, and the entire Stewart family during this difficult time.
