Brooklyn-Based Beneficiary Day at the Brooklyn Botanic Gardens

Brooklyn-Based Beneficiaries and SGSNY Staff tour the Japanese Garden

St. George’s Society of New York recently hosted a heartwarming afternoon social event for our Brooklyn-based senior beneficiaries.

St. George's Society of New York's Beneficiary Program provides vital financial and quality-of-life support to vulnerable seniors, protecting them from homelessness, poverty, isolation, and neglect.

Our 17 guests enjoyed a personal tour of the Brooklyn Botanic Garden, starting with the beautiful Japanese Hill-and-Pond Garden, where they were captivated by its koi ponds and tranquil bridges. They then wandered through the vibrant Lily Pool Terrace and the Shakespeare Garden.

Lunch followed at the Yellow Magnolia Café, where everyone enjoyed a delicious three course meal and good company. To top off the day, each guest received a thoughtful gift bag, curated by Manton Social Worker Julie Rosenberg, ensuring the day’s joy continued at home.

It was a day filled with connection, beauty, and community — a perfect reminder of the power of shared experiences. We would love to thank the Brooklyn Botanic Garden for its hospitality and we look forward to many more moments like this in the future!
