This fall, we hosted our annual Scholarship Orientation at the Information Lab for our 2024-25 cohort of Scholars. We were thrilled to welcome a fantastic turnout of 22 Scholars.

The 2024-25 Scholarship Program will support 26 Scholars from nine Commonwealth countries, including Bangladesh, Dominica, Ghana, Guyana, Jamaica, Nigeria, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Trinidad and Tobago. Our Scholars are made up of 22 women and 4 men specializing in diverse fields like Computer Systems, Mathematics, Accounting, and Business, Sciences and Health Services, and Communications & Arts.

The day was filled with valuable insights and opportunities for our Scholars. They learned about the upcoming year and all the benefits that come with being a part of the St. George's community. From networking with fellow Scholars to discovering resources that can enhance their academic and professional experiences, it was a day dedicated to fostering connections and support.

One of the highlights of the evening was taking headshots of all of our Scholars, which they can use as they embark on the job and graduate school application process next spring.

In addition, we had a special presentation by our new program partner, Career Spring. They shared valuable information about the benefits of their platform, which focuses on helping students launch their careers once they graduate.

As the day came to a close, we found ourselves struggling to encourage attendees to leave, as conversations flowed. We can’t wait for our next event and look forward to seeing how our Scholars utilize the knowledge and connections gained during this orientation. Thank you to everyone who joined us. Here's to a fantastic year ahead!
