Mentoring Spotlight: Amanda & Sheavonnie

250th Anniversary Launches with Members and Friends
Over 300 members, partners and friends celebrated 250 years of giving, community and service at St. George's Society's 250th Annual General Meeting followed by a cocktail reception to launch our 250th anniversary on 31st January at Hearst Tower.
Meet Our New Board Members
We are delighted to welcome four new members to St. George's Society's Board of Directors. Mark Aiston, Claudine Moore, Christopher St. Victor de-Pinho and Steve Wilson were elected to serve at the Annual General Meeting on 31st January.
Introducing Our New President: Frank E. Morgan II
Frank E. Morgan II was elected President of St. George’s Society of New York at the 250th Annual General Meeting held on 31st January 2020. Frank succeeds Philip Warner OBE, who has held the position for the past three years. We caught up with our new President to learn more about him and his vision for the Society.
Mountbatten Trainees Raise Over $4,000 For Team SGSNY
Since March, the Mountbatten Fundraising Committee have been running, brunching and baking, all in the name of St. George's Society. So far, they have raised over $4,000 and our very own Juliet Lamb shares the committee’s progress and exciting plans ahead.
Beneficiaries Enjoy Fellowship and Dancing at Annual Shadwell Tea
Last month, we held our annual Wendy Shadwell Tea welcoming over 40 of the Society's elderly beneficiaries for an afternoon of tea, talk, live music and dancing.
Partners in Care: Marjorie’s Story
The Society’s Beneficiary Program collaborates with local social service agencies as well as partner charities to ensure that our seniors can remain in their homes and age with dignity. When Marjorie was referred to us by our friends at the Legal Aid Society, she was facing eviction from her home of nearly 30 years.
Andy Byford New York City Transit President to be awarded 2019 British Leadership Award
St. George’s Society of New York in partnership with the UK’s Department for International Trade has announced that Andy Byford will receive the 2019 British Leadership Award at the ninth annual British Bash at Edison Ballroom in New York City on Wednesday 4th December 2019. The award recognizes his contribution to the New York City community and his achievements in leadership and innovation.
Running St. George for St. George's Society
Many St. George’s Society supporters will recognize Charles Arrowsmith as our resident quizmaster extraordinaire. This October, he will take on a different sort of challenge as he runs the St. George Marathon in southwest Utah in support of St. George’s Society. He shares his progress and the motivation behind his campaign.
Scholars on the Pathway to Success
We are delighted to welcome BP America and Coller Capital as our first Pathways Partners following the launch of the program earlier this year. Thanks to their commitment, five students were selected from our 2019/20 class of scholars to receive scholarships through the program. BP America’s area of focus for their Pathways scholarships was STEM, and we caught up with the recipients to learn more about their journey and goals for the future.
The Society Awards 44 Scholarships for 2019/20 Year
Thanks to the generosity of our Pathways Partners and this year's Fund-A-Scholar donors, the Society awarded 44 scholarships to final-year students at Lehman and Hunter Colleges for the 2019/20 academic year. These students along with scholar alumni will have the opportunity to participate in our mentoring and professional development initiatives in the fall.
Generations Coming Together
In a continued effort to enhance the quality of life for our senior beneficiaries, St. George’s Society introduced a new initiative earlier this year: Silver Buddies, a pen pal program with students at the British International School of New York.

We are excited to announce the launch of a new system that gives supporters easy access to your own personal profile through an online account portal allowing you to view your donation history, update your contact information, and more.
English Ball Celebrates a Commitment to Community
Honored guests, corporate sponsors, members and friends gathered together for the English Ball on 25th April at Guastavino's in New York City. The black-tie affair celebrated a commitment to community and raised over $152,000 for the Society's Scholarship Program.
